Abstract

The paper explores the village of Montesclado, situated in the Lleida Pyrenees within the coma of Burg valley. The valley also encompasses several other villages including Alendo, Burg, and Farrera. Montesclado, perched at an altitude of 1,162.1 m, has historical and strategic significance, serving as a vantage point for overseeing neighboring valleys. The study delves into the socio-economic aspects, like the agrarian practices and the shift in population due to industrialization. The village has also had its role during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The research concludes by encouraging visitors to explore this tranquil and historically rich area.
